Lease and license

The farming of oysters requires an aquaculture license for shellfish production from the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA). A lease from the Crown estate is also required for each site. Lease are agreed for a period of 15 years and automatically renewed.

The site L5 is 2 meres deep at low tide and only trials with floating bags under trials.
The site L1 has a capacity to produce 150 tones from half grown oyster (1year production cycle). This site is accessible an any tide below 1.2 metre tide and has an actual production capacity of 60 tones from seed to adult. For year 2023 site site will produce 150 tones from half grown (1 year production cycle) using longlines and trestles fluffing bag technics,
Site L3 is operated by myself as sole trader, it is not part of sardini Ltd and produce 5 tones of oysters using flipping bag technics on trestles.
